FAQ

Can my dog play with other dogs?

If your dog is sociable and friendly and you request them to have play sessions with other dogs, we will be more than happy to match your pooch up with a suitable play pal.

How soon in advance should I book my pet in?

We simply recommend that you book your pet in as soon as you know which dates you need. We do not have a cancellation fee, however if for whatever reason you do need to cancel, we ask that you call at let us know that way some other doggy will have a chance to book their spot at camp. Holidays (especially the ones where kids are off school), long weekends, and weekends are always the fullest, but call our office (204-422-8344) or make your reservation online now!

I feed my dog special food, will that have to change while he’s there?

Nothing ever has to change, if your pooch is on a raw meat diet or just has a specific type of food, to a certain way he prefers it soaked in water or specially mixed we will do everything we can to keep things just the way your pet is used to it. You can send individual meal sized containers or Ziploc bags or all in one container with portion size instructions, we will serve it up just the way they like it. We have a fridge, freezer and microwave to help with any special requests, anytime.

My dog is on medication, will that be a problem?

No problem at all. From insulin to daily vitamins, eye drops or creams, heartworm pills and everything in between. For no additional charge ever, we will administer any type of medication necessary, exactly the way you do it at home.

What should Itt send with my pet?

You are welcome to send along anything you’d like, but you don’t have to send anything at all. What we mean is; everydoggy and everykitty is comforted by the smell of home-so please feel free to send along your pet’s pillow bed, favourite blanket, or even your slipper! But for your comfort, know that if nothing is sent, then we will provide clean, dry blankets to make it just as comfy. We also recommend you send your pets food from home-it’s easier on their stomachs to have something they’re already used to.
(**please note that despite the fact we take a detailed inventory of personal items at the time of arrival, Waldenway Canine and Kitty Camp cannot assume responsibly for lost or damaged property as it was left at the owners risk.**)

What size is the space will my pet will be in?

Our extra large doggy kennels are 5’ x 6’ indoors and 5’ x 16’ outdoors.
Our regular doggy kennels are 4’ x 5’ indoors and 5’ x 16’ outdoors.
Our puppy room kennels are 3’ x 7’ indoors and 3’ x 8’ outdoors.
Our kitty kennels are 4’ x 6’ floor-to-ceiling.

What will my dog’s day look like at your camp?

Everydoggy has access to their personal outdoor run from 7:30 am – 7:30 pm, so they choose if they would like to be out in the fresh air or inside resting on their bed. On top of that, each dog is let out into one of our park-like yards for 20 minutes - 4 times a day, to run, sniff, and play. Meal times and feeding schedules here at Camp are entirely as you instruct us to make them. If you fill your pals bowl full in the morning and he nibbles all day – then that’s how it will be done here. If it’s 2 cups at breakfast and 2 cups at dinner with a spoonful of wet food mixed in, then consider it done. No request is too bizarre. And in between meals, and free time out in the yard, know that everydoggy gets lots of love and attention throughout the day. Whether it’s a scratch behind the ear while changing water pails, a belly rub at treat-time, or some fun time outside, everydoggy gets lots of love, all day. So good-meals, lots of love, exercise and all the fresh country air you pooch can handle...each day, every day.
